Puyallup City Hall
Puyallup, WA
Setting a Precedent for Future Development
Completed in 2008, Puyallup’s new City Hall opened its doors on time and on budget. This 50,000 square foot, LEED Gold Certified building (and accompanying civic plaza) set out to be a model for sustainable design and planning, and to renew the city’s urban core.
Scope:
SSA provided acoustical design services for this unique focal point to downtown Puyallup.
Challenges
The facility presented several noise issues including sound transmission between private meeting spaces and common areas, and between offices that require high levels of speech privacy.
Solutions:
Our team provided acoustical consultation which included detailed interior reflectivity modeling and mechanical noise system analysis. The acoustical solutions were seamlessly integrated into the inviting aesthetics of the building and were within the budget of the project.
