South Hotel at the Village
Mammoth Lakes, CA
Scope:
Complete services including architectural, mechanical and environmental noise control were provided for this new hotel addition
Challenges:
With every project there are always challenges that arise related to sound isolation. As with most hotels there are a variety of adjacencies that prove challenging when attempting to achieve a higher degree of acoustical performance while not encroaching on useable space. For this project in particular, a nightclub was planned to be located below guest rooms.
Solutions:
Measurements of spaces were conducted that would represent the proposed nightclub. Measurements included spectral data that would assist in developing the necessary assembly that would isolate sound. Information was carefully coordinated with the design team to ensure the details were incorporated in the construction.
