Scope:
Full acoustic design services were provided for this new luxury condominium project in the heart of downtown Seattle. Architectural elements relating to sound isolation and impact isolation were reviewed, all mechanical and plumbing systems evaluated and an environmental assessment provided to ensure noise is not intrusive from city traffic.
Challenges:
As a luxury grade project, sound isolation is essential within the building and from the exterior of the building. Often during the design of a project such as the details that maintain acoustic performance can get overlooked. The smallest gap created at joints at demising walls can lower the performance significantly.
Solutions:
All details have been reviewed and recommendations provided. To ensure the performance is achieved, field tests were conducted and every floor inspected to ensure detailing was not missed.
