Our project involvement included an extensive assessment of
aircraft noise involving over 200 hours of site monitoring to develop specific
recommendations for wall, window and roofing assemblies to achieve specific
interior noise level requirements.
With our combined
talents of architectural and engineering acoustics, we were able to go from
our
assessment to mitigation recommendations as part of the project team.
We worked closely with the team at NBBJ to
design recommendations for interior room absorption within the lobby, meeting rooms, open office areas, concourses, and private offices.
Wall type
recommendations to control noise between exercise spaces, HVAC mechanical
spaces, and emergency diesel generator spaces were provided. Our initial studies to measure noise levels
from aircraft were later used to develop detailed recommendations for window
and wall systems to the concourse and new terminal building.
Detailed evaluations were completed for
mechanical systems serving the concourse and terminal building were developed by
separate HVAC design firms.
