MRI
Noise and Vibration
We provide recommendations
to design facilities which house vibration-sensitive
instruments and tools to be within the accepted
Vibration Criteria (VC) curves and ISO standards
for human exposure. These solutions are designed
based on measurements and modeling predictions.
In order to prevent noise impact to occupants
and adjacent spaces, the issues of room
acoustics, sound transmission, observation window/door
assemblies, and wall and floor/ceiling assemblies,
in addition to vibration isolation of equipment,
must also be addressed.
Mechanical
Noise High background noise from many sources,
including mechanical equipment, can render an otherwise
good space unusable. We conduct an analysis of the mechanical
system, and design recommendations to achieve
appropriate levels of background noise in order
to achieve the desired Noise Criteria rating. We
balance realistic treatments which will achieve
the design criteria while keeping within the budget.
