First Avenue will be Seattle's
first luxury botique hotel which
combines an exclusive guest experience
with exclusive condominium residences.
Located in
the heart of downtown Seattle, Hotel 1000
and The Residences at Hotel 1000
will redefine luxury urban
living for the city.
Construction
will begin this fall, with a projected completion in
2006.
Our team provided
acoustical design recommendations for
all aspects of the project, including
architectural, mechanical, and environmental
acoustics. Our

recommendations
contain
careful consideration for rooftop mechanical
systems as well as mechanical systems
passing through the building. Designing
to prevent sound and vibration
to the guests and residents of 1000
First Avenue also included taking into
account that a luxury guest room
or condominium occupant perceives value not only in
hearing no sound from the neighbors
or plumbing; they appreciate quiet
appliances, heating system, exhaust
fans, and whole house fans.
It was
necessary to weigh each element for
both source of sound and receiver
of sound to establish noise
limits. From this, we selected
the performance of the architectural
elements for 1000 First Avenue.
